The Squatto Oni is a much taller and bulkier oni variant. This enemy is present in Version 3.0; where it plays a part in the story, and Version 6.23 where it is merely visible for a short while in the Oni Room.

Appearance[]
Squatto looks much like the Oni, with its face being identical. However, it is very tall and muscular, with short legs and long, lanky arms. A large part of its body is either covered in shadow or is colored pitch-black. While the regular oni's body in version 3.0 is pixelated, Squatto's isn't. The back of Squatto's head is also the same color as the rest of it, instead of being completely black like the regular oni.
Version 3.0[]
Squatto appears after the player goes to sleep in the guest bedroom. Hiroshi is awoken to a rhythmic thumping sound. Exploring, he finds Squatto towering over Mika and murdering her behind a couch by continuously pounding her. After noticing Hiroshi, Squatto begins to chase him. This is the only chase and encounter with this Oni, and Squatto has no random chase sequences.

Two Squattos can also be seen walking around the Oni Room. One "squatting", the other following the player's movements.
If Hiroshi tries to hide in the Jail Cell during the chase with Squatto in this version, Squatto will open the Jail Cell door effortlessly (unlike the oni, which cannot) and make it very difficult to escape the room again, because escaping from this oni (or regular one) when your only way out is to go towards the oni in a 3-tile wide hallway is nearly impossible as the oni has a 3x3 tiles hitbox. However, the player may still outrun the oni if it isn't in the center of the 3 tiles, however the oni can easily just move 1 tile and cause a game over.
Version 6.23[]
In Version 6.23, Squatto can only be seen once, in the Oni Room. It is "squatting" up and down, making the same fist-pounding motions it does when it kills Mika in Version 3.0. It's not possible to interact with Squatto in this room, since it is blocked off by other onis. Unlike Version 3.0, there is only one Squatto in this room, and the one that follows the player is removed.

Trivia[]
- Although Squatto appears to possesses great power and strength, it doesn't seem strong enough to break the iron bars in the Jail Cell of the Oni Room (unlike the regular Jail Cell).
- The back of the regular oni's head is black, but for some reason, the back of Squatto's head is the same color as the rest of the oni.
- If the player finds and hides inside a closet during the Squatto chase with Squatto in the room, it will find the player, even if the regular oni wouldn't find the player under same circumstances. When it attacks them there, it uses the same animation of opening the closet door as the regular Oni.
- This specific Oni has a day to itself in the week, being Wednesday. However, comically, the day is called "Squatto Monday."
- The name Squatto is unofficial and comes from a meme started by two Japanese Let's Players named Gami and Fuhiki who referred to it as such because of its appearance of doing Hindu squats. It's unknown if Squatto has an official name.
