The Caterpillar Oni is a unique type of Oni that is exclusively seen in Version 6.23 in the Oni Room.
Appearance[]
The Caterpillar Oni appears to be a sluggish oni with twelve eyes and many tiny legs.
Version 6[]
It is only seen pacing left to right, and runs off with the other Oni when the Oni Room jail cell is opened up after Hiroshi is chased out. Little to no information can be said about Caterpillar Oni, due to its near uselessness in the game. Caterpillar Oni is slower then any other oni, except for Blob Oni, which makes it easier to escape.
Ao Oni 2[]
It is seen a few times and chases the player with the other oni variants when the player goes into the Oni room jail cell. It moves exactly like the basic oni. It is also a mask for the oni that is available in the game.
Ao Oni Fragments[]
In the Autumn of Appetite chapter, it firsts jumps on Hiroshi. Hiroshi thought it was a caterpillar. Then it bites his finger “like a mother breastfeeding her child.” Hiroshi realizes he will be late for school so he puts it in his pocket. He realizes that it grew and he soon hid it in his bag. During morning class, he drew it on paper perfectly. Then during math, a large snore from the caterpillar Oni disturbs class and Hiroshi plays it off as his stomach growling but the teacher says they she should conduct a bag search so he clutches the bag to his chest. He plays it off as his bag will get too warm because it’s the color black and it absorbs heat. Later on the hill, He and Shun were doing coding stuff and he brought out the caterpillar oni. In which Shun named him Goo, based off the sound of how loud it’s snore was. Goo showed interest in the basketball charm Shun had. Shun tried to take the basketball charm off so he could give it to them but it hit him thinking he was taking it away. Hiroshi yelled at it to stop and it did. Now it was the size of a dog. Soon later at home, he tried to feed it his hamster and tropical fishes but it didn’t eat it. He let it play with marbles that he had from a project in elementary school and he realized that it was reading and it was getting smarter. He then took a shower and hid it in the closet while he was gone his dad stabbed Goo and it ran to the mountains. Hiroshi ran over there and hugged it before it died and he buried not before he had a hallucination of it being happy with its marble circle.
